Job Description

Responsible for maintaining all menus and recipes used in the restaurant, and for the preparation, presentation, and service of these menu items in order to provide efficient, friendly services and profitable operations in a clean, timely, and professional fashion.

Responsibilities

• Complete prep list in a timely and organized fashion
• Conduct a line check at the start of all services to ensure quality of product
• Help with duties of other pastry cooks when necessary because of unexpected absence or extra volume.
• Assist pastry chef on new ideas for desserts, pastries, ice cream, etc.
• Be strong in time management and accuracy to deal with a variety of duties
• Properly use, handle, clean breakdown and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation
• Coordinate proper food storage according to standing operating procedure
• Guides, teaches, motivates fellow staff members to follow recipes, encourage healthy communication throughout the team, follows guidelines set by Executive Pastry Chef
• Promotes cooperative effort, leadership by example, and positive morale amongst team
• Maintain clean kitchen by consolidating product, putting away equipment cleaned correctly, completing cleaning list, working clean.
• Multi-tasking prep and keep socializing to a minimum.
• Upkeep freezer, walk in, low boys, dry storage with wrapping, labeling, and counting correctly.
• Documenting correct inventory numbers for product daily.
• Maintain all system clipboards, inventories, cleaning sheets, and station line checks.
• Quality checks on all plates leaving the kitchen for guests
• Be able to lift 50#
• Understand and execute the principles of FIFO
• Be able to work under more than stressful conditions
• Be responsible for the material in the training manuals and handbook
• Make appropriate judgment calls under stressful situations
• Meet personal schedule requirements punctuality
• Project a courteous, confident and flexible attitude
• Provide a clean, well manicured persona that reflects the established image of the restaurant
• Accept constructive criticism
• Work a variable and flexible schedule, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
• Report directly to Executive Pastry Chef with any information or problems deemed necessary to report nightly.
