Job Description
*For Wednesday and Saturday shift*
As the bartenders’ extra set of hands, your job as bar-back is to support anything and everything behind the bar. You’ll be responsible for maintaining stock, assisting during service, and providing go-to support for all your bartenders' needs. There's a potential opportunity for growth as many bartenders start as bar-backs.
Responsibilities
- Clean/wipe down bar area counters, furniture, and tabletops
- Wash glasses and dishes
- Handle drink spills and broken glassware
- Restock and replenish liquor, garnishes, and bar supplies
- Change beer kegs
- Empty trash and refill ice wells

After working at another Café Gecko location for almost eight years, and finding true love by meeting Ted there, it seems to be destiny to finally open a Café Gecko of our own.
We have resided in the surrounding Campbell/Coit neighbourhoods for almost 17 years and all three of our children either graduated or will graduate from JJ Pearce. We are HUGE supporters of the local schools, neighbours and businesses. My sister, Heather, who gave up a thriving career in Denver to move back and help us open completes the trio of personalities who breathe life into Café Gecko Richardson every day!!
We’ve always felt a place like Café Gecko would be the perfect missing piece for the neighbourhood, late night hours, great food, lots of tv’s for sports watching, friendly staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
