Job Description

On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina - Arlington is looking for a Cleaner of the Back of House to join our team. As a BOH Cleaner, you will be responsible for cleaning all prep equipment, silverware, glassware and dishes according to sanitation requirements. You'll be responsible for keeping the dish pit organized and assist the kitchen in keeping the line and prep areas organized and clean. Your pace is critical to turning tables, so a strong work ethic is key to success.
What you’ll do:
You will keep the restaurant running smoothly by keeping up with the dish load during low and high volume hours, and maintain adequate levels of clean tableware at all times
In addition to dishes, a BOH Cleaner keeps the dish room sparkling and organized, the kitchen floors and Back of House areas mopped and sanitized
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant
You need to be:
Passionate about cleanliness and able to do a great job efficiently in a fast paced environment. Prior experience is helpful but not necessary. You'll need to be able to stand for long periods of time and follow safety procedures. Weekends and holidays are a busy time in the industry and limited time off will be available during these times.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Operate dishwasher
- Look out for and report repair needs
- Wash glassware by hand when necessary
- Empty and clean trash and recycling bins
- Rotate dishes
- Clean dish storage
- Assist kitchen staff as needed

With business booming, the three friends decided it was time to share On The Border with more people. A lot more people, in more places.
And today, you can get your hands on fresh-pressed tortillas, chips as big as your head, margaritas worth their salt, table-side guacamole and fresh Border-style food, all thanks to three pals—and a little tequila.
