Job Description
As the chef, you’ll take complete responsibility for every plate that gets served and the overall direction of the menu. You’ll be expected to innovate and iterate on the menu to provide creative, quality food while meeting profit goals. You will be responsible for hiring and supervising the kitchen staff and coaching employees on consistency, technique and skills.
Responsibilities
- Create menus
- Direct the food prep process
- Plan & order ingredients and necessary equipment
- Arrange for kitchen repairs when needed
- Use P&L statements to effectively manage costs and meet budgets
- Hire, manage, and train kitchen staff
- Oversee kitchen staff, looking for opportunities to counsel or coach
- Foster cooperation, collaboration and respect
- Have knowledge of and enforce all safety and sanitation requirements

Wiseguys A Chicago Eatery & The Haute Spot are joining forces to bring great food, live entertainment and special events. We are known for providing an exciting, fun atmosphere to both work at and enjoy food at. To fill our kitchen needs we are looking for experienced Line/Grill Cooks as well as a dishwasher to work in this exciting atmosphere. Must be able to work in a fast pace environment, be a team player, have a positive attitude and able to follow any Covid regulations. Must be willing to work nights and weekends. Position can be full or part time.
Cooks Position pay range $12.50 -$15.00 (depending on experience)
Dishwasher $10.00 (Dishwasher may help in other areas of kitchen when needed)
