Job Description
As a cook, you'll set up your station and participate in prep. You should be passionate about putting out consistent, quality food and seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the kitchen. You should be able to follow recipes and take direction from the Chef or Sous Chef and also explore your creativity where appropriate. You welcome the fast, often hectic pace of the kitchen and are above all a team player.

{ Basso } (meaning "low" or "beneath" in Italian) is a sleek basement gastro pub with an Italian accent and a playful attitude. The space itself is a feast for the eyes. Located beneath the new BOUNDARY restaurant at The Cheshire, Basso is no basement after-thought. The 5,000-square foot, 150-seat space features a blend of comfort and rusticity. Intimate leather booths encircle the perimeter and the center bar features a custom-made metal headpiece suspended from panels of reclaimed Missouri barn wood. The 40-seat bar is apropos for a venue that serves up 32 beers on tap. But wine and cocktail lovers will not be undeserved. An Italian-centric wine list boasts a variety of unique pours, and a cocktail list sure to please those who appreciate a unique beverage.
Closer to the open kitchen, two wood-topped communal tables offer a great spot to gather with a bunch of friends; or pull up a stool with new friends and take in the culinary action. An original stone fireplace offers a cozy place to relax with a drink. There’s even a semi-private lounge with red velvet couches and funky lighting, perfect for a more intimate gathering.
