Job Description
As a cook, you'll set up your station and participate in prep. You should be passionate about putting out consistent, quality food and seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the kitchen. You should be able to follow recipes and take direction from the Chef or Sous Chef and also explore your creativity where appropriate. You welcome the fast, often hectic pace of the kitchen and are above all a team player.
Responsibilities
- Cook food in a variety of ways
- Prepare ingredients
- Possess a solid sense of timing
- Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Monitor stock and place orders for shortages

The Dream Cafe has been a Dallas staple since 1988. We started as a family business, opened and still operated by siblings Mary and Grady O'Brien. Long before health food was hip, we've been offering organic, vegan and just plain healthy options since the day we opened our doors.
But, we also love to be bad. So if you do want to splurge on a Monte Cristo or our classic Burger, you can eat assured that we use organic, local ingredients and hormone free meat. At the Dream Cafe we love food and we know that everyone eats differently, and strive to cater to different diets, taste buds and allergies. We are always happy to swap bacon for veggie sausage and cheddar for soy cheese, but are still here for our meat eaters. At the Dream Cafe feel free to come as you are, different taste buds and all!
