About Pizzeria Grata
The word “Grata” is derived from the Italian phrase that can be translated to Grateful. In our eyes it helps define our hospitality and passionate culinary style. Quite simply, we don’t cook for us or our ego, we cook for and serve you. We strive to bring the rustic ambiance and fresh ingredient farm to table philosophy found throughout Italy, home to Austin. We use the finest imported ingredients and century old artisan traditions to bring the definitive Neapolitan pizza experience to our guests.
Neapolitan pizza embodies the essence of what authentic Italian pizza should be; soft, well-cooked, fragrant and enclosed in a high, soft edge of crust. Specific preparation, ingredients and method of cooking are essential to recreating the tradition of pizza as it began in Naples. Ingredients imported from Naples, and a wood-burning Forno Bravo brick oven lend to the unique characteristics of Grata’s pizza. This is the true art of the Pizzaiolo: each pizza is an individual piece of art for you to enjoy — you’ll be glad you did.
