About this location
About Molina's Cantina
Since 1941 Molina’s Cantina has been an integral part of the Houston dining community. Eighty years after opening the first restaurant, Houston’s oldest family-owned and -operated Tex-Mex restaurants continue to serve their neighbors, with locations at 7901 Westheimer, 3801 Bellaire Blvd. and 6300 FM 1463 in Fulshear. As the third generation to run the family’s restaurants, brothers Roberto, Ricardo and Raul, III, offer many of the original scratch-made dishes alongside fresh additions and updates over the years. Keeping in step with patrons’ evolving tastes while maintaining an inherent charm and warm hospitality, the restaurant remains a Houston institution. Generations of families have enjoyed countless plates of Tex-Mex favorites, including the legendary Enchiladas de Tejas (cheese enchiladas with chili gravy), combination plates, Jose’s Dip (creamy queso with spicy taco meat), chili con carne (an original recipe!) and renowned margaritas. The restaurants have seen national recognition by The New York Times, Southern Living, Food Network, ABC-TV, Cook’s Country for America’s Test Kitchen (PBS), The Splendid Table (American Public Media), Zagat, Men’s Health and Thrillist.
