About this location
About Gigi's Italian Restaurants
In 1967, Vergil and Dot Newberne, mom and dad, moved us, son Steve and Daughter Cyndi, from Atlanta Georgia to South Pasadena Florida and opened their first Gigi’s. Their success during the next 20 years was built one customer at a time through hard work, determination and plenty of Southern Hospitality.
Mom and dad ran the business with both of us by their side for all those years, mentoring us in the ways of the restaurant industry. As we grew up in the family business, we learned the importance of seeing to each and every guest’s needs; to treat them as though they were friends in our own home, carrying on the Southern Hospitality that our parents had instilled in us.
In 1990, mom and dad decided the time had come to retire to their farm in South Georgia. This afforded us the opportunity to purchase Gigi’s from them, thereby opening the door to the next generation of hospitality and expansion of the Gigi’s brand.
Currently we have 2 Bay Area Locations: Treasure Island (1970) and St Pete Beach (1997), that are carrying on the tradition mom and dad started so many years ago!
We welcome you to visit any one of these locations to enjoy Great Food, Candlelit Atmosphere, and genuinely warm service.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Steve Newberne
