Job Description
As host, you'll be the conductor of the orchestra that is service. You are the first impression of the restaurant and set the tone for guests' experiences. You will answer phones, take reservations, and be responsible for seating guests according to server availability. Your attention to detail and communication are critically important. You are also the last note of the experience, and will wish guests farewell and invite them to come back.
Responsibilities
- Greet all guests with a smile upon arrival
- Seat guests and accommodate special requests
- Manage the wait list: record guest names and number in party, and provide estimated waiting time
- Answer phones and manage the restaurant reservation system
- Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness

Mike Ross has over 25 years in the hospitality industry. He began his career in Boston, MA working for the Back Bay Hilton Hotel. He attributes that experience with providing him with his passion and strong culinary foundation.
Mike moved to Atlanta with his wife and son in 1986 and transitioned from the Hilton Hotels to working for several notable restaurant groups, including Peasant Restaurant, Houston’s and Liberty House.
Mike joined Innovative Restaurant Concepts / Rio Bravo in 1997 and, afterwards, continued with Killer Concepts / Ray’s on the River. It was 2001 when Killer Concepts converted its downtown store, Siesta Grill, into Ray’s in the City where Mike served as the Operating Partner and Director of Operations.
