About this location
About Casa Costa Bake Shop
Located in the heart of Old Town Leander, Casa Costa is in a beautiful, remodeled 1930s house, or "casa", as we say in the Portuguese language. We offer original, home-made recipes from our multi-cultural family from the United States, Portugal, and Brazil. We serve items such as Granny's sausage gravy and biscuits, Vóvo Aparecida's comida Mineira, and Tia Maria's arroz doce from Terceira, just to name a few.
We also offer a large variety of specialty drinks, coffees, and good eats, using only the freshest ingredients available. We want to welcome you, our extended family and friends, to our Casa.
The name "Costa" is our Portuguese family name. Since we are a family owned and operated business, the name was chosen in honor of U.S. Army Major George M. Costa, who was a great Portuguese man - Katie's father and Donna's husband. George was born on the island of Terceira in the Azores, Portugal, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 13. He has instilled in all our family a genuine pride and love for our Portuguese heritage and culture - especially the food! We honor him by naming our bake shop Casa Costa!
We LOVE cooking and baking for you, and we hope you enjoy your dining experience in the Costa Family home! Bom Apetite!
