Job Description
In this role as Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the successful oversight and operations of The Addison Grove and Prospect House’s bar service (a division of Heyens Hospitality), Austin’s premiere wedding and event venue.
Qualifications:
- Must be TABC certified and maintain valid certificate through employment
- Extensive knowledge of mixology and experience with craft cocktails
- Proficient in inventory tracking process; including Microsoft Excel
- Minimum of 2+ years managing experience
- Minimum of 5+ years bartending experience
- Instills the highest levels of trustworthiness, integrity, and self-accountability
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to employees
- Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Experience working for a small business preferred
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Responsibilities
- Hire, schedule, and manage all bar staff and staffing needs
- Manage all bar staff on day-of events, leading the bar through setup and breakdown
- Handle day of staffing adjustments and callouts as needed
- Order all alcohol and related bar and venue supplies
- Take in alcohol deliveries and maintain inventory/supplies, including organizing, storing, and flipping perishable items, and keeping work aprons/uniforms clean and ready for events
- Manage and keep up to date inventory, consumption, and staff spreadsheets
- Hold all bar staff to company standards and expectations, while delivering constructive feedback
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Work closely with Venue team to continue to develop and grow the bar program
- Ensure bar staff maintains the highest level of professionalism throughout events
- Lead regular training sessions and workshops to ensure staff are knowledgeable about new bar offerings, selections, and bartending techniques
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and setting actionable goals for staff improvement
