Job Description
The prep cook handles the majority of the prep for all ingredients going into dishes during service. This position often works under little supervision, so you must be able to follow recipes and be well-versed in a variety of food products and techniques. The quality of the prep work is instrumental in the quality of the finished product, so attention to detail is paramount.
Responsibilities
- Prep duties such as washing and chopping vegetables or cutting meat
- Label and stock ingredients on shelves
- Measure ingredients and seasonings
- Basic kitchen duties like reducing sauces or parboiling
- Prep simple dishes such as soups and salads
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
- Follow nutrition and sanitation guidelines

The menu at Fadi’s is based on family-owned recipes and is rich in delicious Mediterranean flavors! Fadi Dimassi is chef, manager, and founder of the Fadi’s Mediterranean Grill restaurants. Born and raised in Saida, Lebanon, he began training at the age of nineteen in his family’s restaurant and now serves some of the finest Mediterranean cuisine in the Houston and Dallas areas. His dedication to the community and passion for delicious foods has earned the Fadi’s brand a delightfully enthusiastic following of loyal customers.
In December 1990 he and his family came to the United States, where in 1993 his family opened their first Houston restaurant called Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet. Then in 1996 he opened Fadi’s Mediterranean Grill; and eight months later, the rest of the family left Dimassi’s and joined him in promoting his flourishing, new restaurant (Dimassi’s is still in existence today but is no longer associated to the Dimassi family).
