Job Description
As a Saute cook, you'll set up your station and participate in prep. You should be passionate about putting out consistent, quality food and seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the kitchen. You should be able to follow recipes and take direction from the Chef or Sous Chef and also explore your creativity where appropriate. You welcome the fast, often hectic pace of the kitchen and are above all a team player.
Responsibilities
- Cook food in a variety of ways
- Prepare ingredients
- Possess a solid sense of timing
- Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Monitor stock and place orders for shortages

In the beginning, our objective was singular in purpose - to build a restaurant in which we, ourselves, would enjoy dining. The atmosphere is casual but crisp and clean, with the art work of local artist Ken Beberman adorning the wall, which, by the way, is also offered for sale.
We come from Brooklyn, NY, Long Island, NY, and European backgrounds. The diversity of our beginnings is evidenced by our menu. The choices are plentiful and varied with something for everyone. It is not uncommon for a table of four to be enjoying one of our Gourmet Pizzas, while a nearby table dines on one of our wide varieties of unique entrees. Our portions are large; don't worry, though, as we'd be happy to wrap your meal to go so you can enjoy SAZIO again later in the day.
We realize we're not just in the restaurant business, but in the hospitality business as well. We take tremendous pride in our staff and their willingness to provide you, our valued guests, with service comparable to that of a five-star restaurant. After all, the definition of SAZIO in Italian is completely satisfied, and that's how we want you to feel. We hope we've accomplished our goal.
