Job Description
As a server at The Penthouse Restaurant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests. This includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a memorable dining experience for each customer. You will work closely with the kitchen and other staff members to deliver seamless service and uphold our restaurant's standards of excellence. 3+ years of fine dining serving experience and thorough knowledge of beer, liquor and wine is required.

- Provide exceptional service to guests throughout their dining experience.
- Greet customers warmly and guide them through the menu, offering recommendations as needed.
- Take accurate orders and ensure they are delivered promptly and correctly.
- 2. Menu Knowledge:
- Be well-versed in the restaurant's menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Explain menu items, specials, and wine pairings to guests.
- Assist customers in making informed choices based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
- 3. Upselling and Promotion:
- Upsell additional items such as appetizers, desserts, and beverages.
- Promote specials, events, and loyalty programs to enhance the guest experience and drive sales.
- 4. Table Maintenance:
- Set up tables with appropriate utensils, glassware, and linens.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, including resetting tables promptly for new guests.
- Monitor and anticipate guest needs, providing refills, condiments, or other requests promptly.
- 5. Collaboration:
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
- Communicate guest feedback, special requests, and any issues to the management team.
- Work collaboratively with other servers and support staff to provide seamless service.
- 6. Cash Handling and Billing:
- Process payments accurately, including handling cash, credit/debit cards, and digital transactions.
- Close out checks and reconcile cash drawers at the end of shifts.
- 7. Compliance:
- Adhere to food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and alcohol service laws.
- Follow restaurant policies and procedures regarding dress code, attendance, and conduct.
- 8. Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Mentor and train new servers as needed, sharing best practices and promoting a positive team environment.
- Qualifications:
- 3+ Years of previous experience in upscale or fine dining restaurants required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage pairings, including wines and spirits.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
