Job Description
As the barista, you will skillfully craft the perfect beverage with consistency. With a wide range of beverage offerings, attention to detail and working quickly & accurately will help ensure your success. You'll also be responsible for keeping your station and the larger establishment clean and stocked. Being a barista offers you a community of passionate coffee lovers and frequent opportunities for continued learning.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers
- Prepare and serve hot/cold beverages
- Share knowledge and suggest menu items to customers
- Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment
- Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Receive and process payments
- Prepare foods such as muffins, pastries, bagels, etc.

Italic is an approachable Italian restaurant helmed by Chef Andrew Curren of ELM Restaurant Group (24 Diner, Irene's, Fareground and Cookbook Cafe) and centrally located in downtown Austin, Texas. Antipasti selections range from cured meats, Italian cheeses, olives and house-marinated produce to house-baked focaccia. Rustic pizzas and entrées such as roasted half chicken or Florence-style T-bone steak are made in our top-of-the-line American-built pizza oven. Farm-to-table selections include seasonally rotating pastas – perfect with a cocktail or selection from our 100-percent Italian wine list. Gelatos and other sweet confections are crafted by Pastry Chef Mary Catherine Curren.
