Job Description

As a key member of Love & War’s hospitality staff, our bartender must ensure the bar operates smoothly, with sufficient stock and staff at all times. The ideal candidate in this position must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, maintaining a courteous demeanor with customers, as well as effectively make use of downtime. Strong leadership skills be accompanied by a commitment to company values, image, and customer service.

Bartender Responsibilities:

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons

• Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drinks

• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations

• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails

• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age

• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies

• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience

• Comply with all food and beverage regulations

• Working with diverse personalities of both the staff and patrons

• Diffusing tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues

• Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for patrons

Bartender Requirements:

• High School Diploma

• 2-5 years Bar Manager experience

• Proficiency with point-of-sale software

• Extensive working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts

• Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources

• Decisiveness

• Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items in a fast-paced, stressful environment
