Job Description
A cook at Fount is more than a cook, they are a forward facing member of our team that is equally important as all aspects of the house. A cohesive part of the team, they execute daily prep lists and board orders as well as service. As mentioned this is a forward facing position in an open concept kitchen so working clean is important. Most often clients & customers engage in conversation on the line, which most love as you get gratification of seeing your work enjoyed.
Our vendors are small batch aritsan makers, generational creameries & farmers, and friends. We work seasonally & collaboratively as a staff with menu items and we have a ton of fun doing it. We work to provide casual, honest & quality hospitality in a cozy environment.
Compensation is dependent on experience between $12-$15 an hour plus tips. Tips range from $10-$15 an hour depending on the season. Everyone in the building makes between $22-$30/hr.
Shifts are never longer than 8hrs. We offer benefits(medical/dental), access to free mental health care, PTO, and no nights. Our current Cafe hours are from 8am-5pm but could extend to 7pm during holiday season.
Responsibilities
- Cook food in a variety of ways
- Prepare ingredients
- Possess a solid sense of timing
- Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Monitor stock and place orders for shortages
