About this location
About Kincaid's Hamburgers
Kincaid’s began back in 1946 as a grocery store in Fort Worth named Charles Kincaid’s Grocery and Market. It was the first grocery store in the area to have specialty departments, including a full-service meat market with O.R. Gentry as the head butcher.
In 1964, O.R. began cooking burgers on a small grill in the back for the neighborhood locals. Using the best cuts of meat and the freshest vegetables from the produce section, the burgers soon became the talk of the town. The grocery store shelves were cut down to countertop height to provide a place for customers to eat and many of the grocery items were removed to give space for tables. Over time, Kincaid’s evolved from a grocery store to a hamburger institution.
The burgers continued to grow in popularity and in 1982 Kincaid’s won “Best Burger in America”, the first among many awards. In 2005, the Gentry family decided to spread the love of Kincaid’s burgers to other towns and opened its second location in Southlake, Texas. The family now owns and operates six locations, including the original on Camp Bowie. To this day, we take pride in using only the best and freshest ingredients for our food just like O.R. did. We consider our customers friends and are dedicated to providing them with the highest quality food and the best experience around.
