Job Description
As a cook, you'll set up your station and participate in prep. You should be passionate about putting out consistent, quality food and seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the kitchen. You should be able to follow recipes and take direction. You welcome the fast, often hectic pace of the kitchen and are above all a team player. Experience a plus but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Cook food in a variety of ways
- Prepare ingredients
- Possess a solid sense of timing
- Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Monitor stock and place orders for shortages

About Paw-Paw's Catfish House
Ever since I was a little girl I have been fishing and hunting with my Paw-Paw and Maw-Maw. We would catch fish that were bigger than I was and I always remember how much fun we had. We would have big fish fry’s in the back yard and all of our friends and family would come. Paw-Paw would always fry catfish and hushpuppies until everyone was so full they could not eat any more. I remember running around and playing and enjoying life! As I grew up I spent my last 20 years in the restaurant business learning and one day hoping that I would have a restaurant of my own. It finally happened and I know my Paw-Paw and Maw-Maw are smiling down on us!
My husband and I have worked hard to create a place here in Bastrop that people will enjoy coming to. The walls are decorated with pictures of my family doing what they loved most- Fishing. Our menu is simple and all of our food is hand battered to order. We want you to come here, bring your family, have a great time and keep coming back.
Our motto here is Fish, Family and Big Stories! We know that with fishing always comes big stories! Stop by sometime soon and lets swap stories!
