Job Description
As host, you'll be the conductor of the orchestra that is service. You are the first impression of the restaurant and set the tone for guests' experiences. You will answer phones, take reservations, and be responsible for seating guests according to server availability. Your attention to detail and communication are critically important. You are also the last note of the experience, and will wish guests farewell and invite them to come back.
Our hosts are always busy.
Responsibilities
- If you want to be successful at this position, you need to be:
- 1. Someone who SMILES constantly
- 2. An excellent multi-tasker. You need to know when you need to do four different things at the same time, and be able to do them without losing your cool.
- 3. A team player. Everyone has to help everyone here, or nobody will like you, & you will probably end up quitting, wasting everyone's time.
- Your job, consists of 3 primary responsibilities:
- 1. TOGO specialist. Ever since the great pandemic of 2020, take-out has all of a sudden become an important part of the restaurant business. As a Host, one of your primary jobs will be taking orders over the phone or from a tablet. Entering them correctly into the computer, estimating pickup times. Packing orders quickly, and accurately, and bringing them out to our customers vehicles, rain or shine.
- 2. LOGISTIC specialist. In Texas at least, the pandemic is over, so people are ready to get out and eat! As a Host, one of your jobs will be taking reservations, managing wait lists, organizing seating arrangements for guests, seating guests, and doing all of that while minimizing wait times. You will also help to clean and re-set tables so that we can seat the next guest quickly.
- 3. SERVICE ASSISTANT. We run a small team, and it takes everyone to make this ship move smoothly. When you’re not busy managing the wait list or packing TOGO orders, your help will be needed in running food and drinks to customers. Guests may also flag you down as you’re walking by, and if it is something you can help with, do it with a smile!
- How much will you make? You will train for about 6-12 shifts. It really depends on how quickly you learn the menu, and how hard you work. Training is $13/hr.
- After training, you start at $9/hour and start receiving tip share. At this step, you will be averaging easily $16/hour. That rate is calculated as $9/hour + tips divided by the number of hours you worked.
- As you master each hosting area (TOGO Packing, TOGO Phones, Seating Logistics) - your hourly rate increases, and tip share as well. Our most experience hosts average $20-26/hour.
- Other perk, we always close Sundays.
- If this sounds like something that fits for you, please apply! Thank you.
- We are a healthy workplace and since we are established, we can promise a steady & reliable work environment.
